KDE 4 and Plasma in OpenMoko

Since yesterday posted on the OpenMoko running Enlightenment, here's a post to please fans of KDE. The video below shows the OpenMoko running Plasma (actually is not KDE 4, but the plasma), the man adjusting the size of plasmoid clock so.

In his blog, Aaron Seigo said:

"It's quite impressive by the fact of being pre-4.0 code running on a mere FPU-less ARM processor of 266Mhz with 128MB of RAM and no graphics acceleration. Such a configuration is not so powerful by today's standards ... "

The problem is it takes about 40 seconds to load everything. A little of this time is to load the libraries, but most is to upload their own plasma.

The work of compiling and get the plasma cell was run on Marijn Kruisselbrink.

This shows the superiority of the open model (who knows when I've got OpenMoko I can give a way to run Fluxbox on it; D) models on the owners. A good rub in the face for molecadinha who likes to talk and become god companies like Apple and M $. Frankly, this is the iPhone is flexible about to let the user do what it pleases and change the Internet the way you want it? At the Steve Jobs knew that at the beginning or did not want to let their customers exchange operator. But perhaps the fanboys of Apple have viewed it as love: "Who loves bloqueeeeiaaaaaa ..."
